A single owner for the assets behind the activity

Many businesses depend on property they do not want tied up in their daily operations. Descartes Campus exists to hold that property in one place and to look after it properly.

We are a civil company. Our purpose is the ownership, management and administration, on a civil basis, of all movable and immovable property connected with the activities of our associates. We do not trade, and we do not run our associates' businesses. We hold what they use and keep it in order.

In practice this covers premises and land as well as equipment and other movable assets. Each asset is recorded, its use is documented, and decisions about it are taken and written down by the associates in the proper way.

Working from Champs-sur-Marne, in the Seine-et-Marne department east of Paris, we keep the company small in purpose and clear in method: own, manage, administer, and report back to the associates.

What we do for our associates

Five areas of work, each tied to the assets our associates rely on. Select a line to read more.

Property ownership

The company holds title to real estate and movable assets that its associates use in their activities. Keeping ownership in a single civil entity gives those assets a stable home that does not change when day-to-day operations do.

  • Holding of title in the company's name
  • Clear record of what the company owns
  • Continuity of ownership over time

Real estate management

We administer the premises and land owned by the company: keeping files in order, coordinating upkeep with outside providers, and organizing how each space is used by the associates.

  • Property files and documents kept up to date
  • Coordination of maintenance and repairs
  • Written arrangements for occupancy and use

Movable asset management

Equipment, fittings and other movable assets are listed, assigned and followed over their working life, so the associates always know what exists, where it is and who uses it.

  • Asset register with allocation to users
  • Planning of upkeep and replacement
  • Records of acquisitions and disposals

Civil administration

The company is run as a civil entity should be: with organized records, documented decisions and correspondence handled in one place. This is the quiet work that makes everything else dependable.

  • Preparation and filing of associates' decisions
  • Management of the company's own accounts and papers
  • Correspondence with advisers and authorities

Making assets available to associates

Assets owned by the company are put at the disposal of the associates for their activities. We set out the terms of that use in writing so that each party knows what to expect.

  • Documented terms of use
  • Coordination between associates sharing an asset
  • Regular review of how assets are being used

Why associates choose to hold assets here

Holding property through a dedicated civil company is a practical decision. These are the reasons that matter in day-to-day use.

Talk to us

Assets kept in one structure

Property used by several associates sits in one company rather than being scattered across individual names and operating businesses.

One point of administration

Records, correspondence and decisions are handled together, so nobody has to piece the picture together from several places.

Continuity

Ownership stays steady while activities evolve. Operations can change without the underlying assets needing to move.

Documented and transparent

What the company holds, who uses it and what was decided are written down and available to the associates at any time.
